黒石には昭和62年12月に市が多額の資金を出して「黒石市史(全四巻)」がある。
これはその当時の古文書を含む多くの資料を基に大学教授や歴史家などの
専門学者がチームを組んで分厚い資料として出版したもので他市町村も行っています。
一方佐藤雨山は、昭和初期に数人の助言者の声を聞きながら、また多くの古文書を
解読しながら、これだけの歴史書を編纂した功績は計り知れない能力と知識力、
調査力が備わっていたからこそなし遂げられた集大成を後世に残しました。
もちろん昭和62年の「黒石市史(全四巻)」を編纂する中での資料として使われています。
黒石の歴史的事件についてはもちろん取り上げられていますが、それよりも
伝統文化について部落・部落における土着の風習などについての記述が特徴的です。

In December 1987, the city of Kuroishi funded
 the "Kuroishi City History (4 volumes)."
This thick document was published by a team of specialists,
 including university professors and historians, based on numerous sources,
 including ancient documents from that time. 
Other cities and towns have also published this work in same time.
Meanwhile, Sato-Uzan, who compiled this history book
 in the early Showa period while listening to the opinions of several advisors
 and deciphering numerous ancient documents, left this culmination
 to future generations, a feat only possible thanks to his immeasurable ability,
 knowledge, and investigative skills.
Naturally, the work was used as material in the compilation
 of the "Kuroishi City History (4 volumes)" published in 1987.
While it does of course cover historical events in Kuroishi,
 it is more notable for its descriptions of traditional culture,
 such as the buraku community and its indigenous customs.
